Vandenberg AFB offers hunter's access to approximately 80K square acres of hunting land, 7 days a week (Mission operations determines closures.)

Hunting Area B1 temporarily closed for hunting, wildlife trapping and baiting

Hunter Orange Requirement

BIG GAME HUNTERS: are required to wear orange during the Vandenberg AFB Deer seasons. Orange broken up by camouflage is acceptable.

Oudoor Locator Card Requirement

Hunters are required to display a completed Outdoor Locator Card on their vehicle dashboard, seen clearly visible through the windshield. These cards are available at the Conservation Law Enforcement Office.

DEER HUNTING:

Tag: A-Zone Buck, Forked Horn or Better: early archery season: begins 8 July 2017, ends 30 July 2017. General season: begins 12 August 2017, ends 24 September 2017

Tag: G-11 Either Sex: begins 28 August 2017, ends 1 October 2017

Limit: 1 per tag

Hunters are required to bring that portion of the skull that determines proof of sex with appropriate deer tag attached to the Conservation Law Enforcement Office during regular buisness hours to have their deer tags countersigned. Office hours are from 0900-1000 and 1500-1600 hours, 7 days a week. If you are leaving town, contact Base Defense Operation Center/BDOC at 805-606-3911, tell them you are a hunter and you need a Conservation Officer to return to the Check Station to have your deer tag countersigned.

RABBITS & VARYING HARE:

General season begins 1 July 2017 ends 28 January 2018, Falconry season begins 30 February 2017 ends 19 March 2017. Daily Bag Limit is 5, in possesion is 10

JACKRABBIT: open all year no limit

TURKEY:

SPRING: Mar. 25 - Apr. 30; 1-bearded daily, 3 per season; FALL: update 1 July 17

QUAIL: update 1 July 17

DOVE: UPDATE 1 JULY 17
